I was a student in this school for 5 years and I am an employee for 10 years and mother of two children who I really would like to attend Externato of Penafirme in the future.

The Externato Penafirme provides a service of quality in education for 36 years, and receives students from an area that encompasses three parishes, Silveira, A-dos-Cunhados e Maceira. Right now it has about 1800 students.

It is a school with a contract of association, which means providing a public service but it has a private management. The Externato receives any student regardless of his social status. Nobody pays to study at Externato of Penafirme, just living in the area or the teaching parent has to work in the teaching area, such action is necessary to deliver documents.

Currently it is going through a difficult moment due to budget cuts. Of course the country being in crisis cuts are needed, what is unfair is that these cuts are larger for the Externato of Penafirme than to a public school providing the same service.


Externato of Penafirme is public education and free.
